2016 Yamaha 242 Limited S - Shower draining for Winter

@olayemi73 Stagnant water can go pink from bacteria. I would be hesitant to assume that the "Pink" water is antifreeze unless you know for sure. It is pretty easy to flush the system by hooking up a hose and filling the tank. I usually twist off the hand sprayer and let it flush through, then...

I don’t usually brag about going to expensive places, but

Just married off two daughters in the last 6 months! Last check cleared today but no @swatski it didn’t match the boat pay off! Better start saving or ask your girls to elope! I didn’t gain another boat but did gain two son in laws - one of which can back the trailer! Not saying which SIL is my...

Look what we picked up Saturday!!

Congratulations on the new boat! I agree with @EricE -really live that red hull! Great way to keep those kids spending time with you - ours are grown and out of the house but we still see them on our boat most summer weekends! Of course now we’ve added son in laws and grand puppies so needed to...

Box Anchor vs. Fluke Anchor ???

I carry a danforth ( fluke) which I like for sand and certain conditions, but my go to in our mud bottom lake is a Richter anchor - limited scope needed and catches easily . I also carry a mushroom for anchoring in tight areas to stop our stern from swinging too much.

Looking to order a 2022 AR195 Have some questions on dealer fees. East Coast NJ

I have heard pretty routinely freight/prep in the $2500-3200 range. Even before the Covid boat rush of 2020, discounts and/or extras on Yamaha’s have been minimal but now dealers have waiting lists of buyers looking for boats so $2645 seems reasonable - especially in NJ/NY area where services...

My Lectrotab Install (full guide included)

Nice write up! Just to clarify - 5200 can cure below 70F - lowest temp is 40F, but it will be slower. The 50% humidity and 70F temp is for reference on cure time and open working time

Crazy pre-boat arrival spending - I need therapy

One custom item I have never seen mentioned on this forum is custom - color coordinated rope. I ordered 400’ of custom rope from Miami cordage and made up dock lines, fender lines and anchor lines from it. My only complaint was the rope was thicker than ordered making the lines a little...

    Yamaha boat tools you carry

I keep some vice grips for clamping the water cooling hose(s) if I ever need to get towed or run on one engine. I also added long reach needle nose pliers and a razor blade knife with both straight and hooked blades for clearing any clogs in the impellers. We have had a few hams from small twigs...

Not Sure How this will Go......<Pool or boat?>

We approached it a little differently - boat plus hot tub. We made a nice brick path and pad with led lighting and lighted steps- use it at night during the week from spring into late fall- doesn’t impede on boating time. Kids love it too but their grown up - if they were younger they may have...

My Audi TDI won't start in the cold (like 0 degrees "American" cold)

@Scottintexas glad you’re up and running. My diesel fuel has been ok - good winter mix here in IL - but my def froze and the pump crapped out - so driving my wife’s Arcadia today. I bought my Canyon in Austin Tx - drove to Illinois - and then the windshield fluid froze. Guessing in TX nobody...

    What's your favorite Bourbon?

@drewkaree I have gone through a bottle of the Angels Envy Caribbean Rum Cask and thought it was very good. I have some more expensive bourbons such as an Old Forrester Birthday bourbon but don’t consider them necessarily “better”. For a good “bang for the buck” I like the Tullamore Dew...

    My latest non-boat related project v. 2

Wow manual shift are getting hard to find in the US - good for you teaching your son to drive with a clutch. I loved working on cars with my dad when I was your sons age ( a very very long time ago) some of my best memories! I’m sure you’ll miss him when he is at college- just need to schedule...
