Just finishing up oil, filter, and spark plug change, and have been reading up on the bearing housing and the need to grease it. From what I have read on here, most have a tube attached, and then just fill that tube with grease? On my 2016 242 LS E series, I think I have located the correct fitting, but there is a short cap on it instead of a tube? This is located directly behind each engine, against the transom.
Does anyone have a pic of this fitting , or advice on this?

Thank you,

Ok, using my long arms that served me well playing basketball, I pulled the caps off the fitting and shot a few pumps of grease in there. While I am all stretched out, and have the grease gun handy, anything else I need to grease or lube ? I bought the boat this May and had almost 50 hours on the engines, now almost 120.

Thank you,

You got the right fitting. The black cap is only a dust cap. Just don't over grease this fitting.

Ok, thanks. Gave it 4 or 5 easy pumps each side. And I get to reset the 100 hr warning siren that gives my wife a heart attack.

You should remove each rear pump cone and inspect the condition of the grease. Making sure no water intrusion. Apply some more grease. I would just get 2 new o-rings to do the job.
Its very easy.

Ok, thanks, was wondering about that. I will search for some step by steps and the o rings too.

Do you remove the entire pump to do this?

Nope just the rear nozzle. 4 14mm bolts, top quick release for the reverse cable, and steering cable nut and bolt. Then you will have access to the cone with three allens.
I just did mine and wire wheeled each bolt and installed back with waterproof grease on all the threads

Touch Little sprocket on the Connex screen
Touch engine wellness
It will say time since last service 100 hours
Hit reset
It will ask are you sure
Hit yes
You are done

This is from a post by another member, but I think it is what I did to reset.
