165 Bimini Top

Does anyone have a picture of what the factory option Bimini Top look like on the base 165?
I looked thru ScarabMike's info but did not see one.
It is the $500 option for the 165.
Also my new scarab 165 should be arriving this week or next and cannot wait to try it out!

On the base model and HO, or Impulse without the tower, it looks like a leaf. Not very impressive.

On the HO Impulse with the tower, it is a little better.

Looked into getting a custom one that uses all six connecting holes on the 165. Was quoted $1,200 so the $500 one will be fine that looks like Acura_mm's one.

It is the standard optional top for $500.00.
Works good for the helm and the 2 adjacent seats.

I'm going to be looking into a custom Bimini top from a canvas specialist, I have the Wake tower on my 165 and neither factory option seems to give enough shade for a day out cruising . Anyone else out there with ideas ?

Ive asked around here a few times and no one had answers. Here is my solution. Its mounted up there but I still need to modify and make/add more bracing to hold it. So its a work in progress. I also plan on the bimni to fold in half towards the back and then fold down with the tower with hinges I have on the way. Otherwise I cant get it in the garage. All the tubing and fittings are stainless steel. Its 62" wide x 75" long. Worse case I cant get it sturdy enough I will shorten the top a little bit and have the canvas shortened. But as it sits it had not been modified yet. Just waiting on my fittings, tubing, and hinges.

I finally got this finished this weekend. It fold in half to the back and then folds down with the tower. Doesnt look like the photos above. I had to change pole angles and such to get a more rigid fit. Ill get photos soon

Here it is finished and out for a day on the lake. Sorry for the crappy pic on the water. Must not have focused or something. I had it up to 30mpg so far and its rock solid. You can hold onto it if the boat is rocking and you need to grab something. I angled it down some in the front to make sure the wind doesnt grab it and id rather the wind push the front down against the bars/tower if there is a load on it.

Now it could just stay like this but to fit in my garage the tower needs to fold down. So the bimnii would be straight up in the air almost at that point. So the bimini has hinges I put in the center of it and it folds in half from front to back and then I use velcro straps to hold it against the back half if that makes sense.

I have no doubt this will hold up at WOT on this boat. The coverage and size was perfect for this size boat also.

Now I gotta work on that porpoising problem because on this lake we went to it was horrible

Do you know if any store sell the bimini top for scarab 165 thar you have in your boat? I like the one you have installed. how can i get one of those? i have the scarab 165 HO impulse boat. thanks

I bought the top as a universal kit. I can find the link. Then I modified it and bought different support bars and end fittings to make it strong and mountable on the 165. Overall was like $750 total. Its all stainless.

We install these instead of ordering the stock one from Scarab due to the small size of the stock one for $500.00 (IMO, you can buy a pop-up wal-mart umbrella that would work better than theirs. We charge $699.00 installed w/ boot and any color you want. Use these pics for a reference and take it to your local canvas shop!

Yeah, I wasn't sure if that was what you're referring too. However, a good canvas shop can make one to fit for that. It won't be any different than the ones Scarab has for th 215 or 255.
