Ok so here’s phase 1 - Blue Seas Mini add battery with new switch and ACR. Wiring complete. Located the ACR just to right of battery switch. 2 60amp breakers between the batteries and ACR. Added ground bar for common. Both batteries will ground to the bar. ACR ground wired with 1AMP fuse for the indicator. Next step mount & wire AMPs

Next step - mounting the new amp to the port aft wallboard. I picked this spot for short power runs and easy access to the tower speaker wire along with shorter run to the head unit on the swim deck. Although access to these will be tough after mounting the deep cell … 😵💫

Went ahead and heat shrink wrapped the rca’s while I had the HU out. Anyone know what the black plastic box is Yamaha has placed under the swim deck behind the head unit?

Struggling with where to mount the NOCO genius onboard charger …. @philistine @Hoyt any thoughts? Where did you mount yours? Thinking maybe gluing a board with 5200 to one of these locations at the front of the compartment. Any issues using 5200 to glue to the fiberglass?

I put mine in the battery compartment along with my amp. If it's tight for space, you could put it further back in the compartment or on the wall in the engine bay. It's fully sealed so engine heat shouldn't be an issue.

Only issue is that 5200 is a permanent solution, and the fiberglass isn't smooth. It should work fine though.

Hard to tell from the pic but it kinda looks like the exhaust resonator chamber as it's held in place with the same kind of rubber strap.

Thanks - wonder if wrapping it while I’ve got it open would help with noise control?

Had a little time to work so …Ok latest update:
Got the holes drilled for the extra tower speakers and wire pulled. It was just me so I used some tape to create a sling to hold speakers while I disconnected the first to for the parallel rewire. Here are a few pics.

First positioned the swivel mounts and used a sharpie to mark the location through the holes.

Next drilled the holes with metal hole saw. Last upgrade used a unibit.

Fashioned some rubber grommets. The gap wasn’t wide enough to span the tower wall thickness, so I clipped off the back ring edges and fits great.

Pulled the existing speakers, used my tape sling while unhooking, (no helpers today) and pulled the wire through. Was easy with the existing wire (originally I used Hoyt’s wire idea.

The rest should go quick tomorrow. Soldering and connecting and amp tuning 🎼🔊🔉🔊🔉🔈🔈🔈🔈🏁

Well not so quick with only 2 hands.. but speakers up And now all that’s left is wire the amp, head unit, tune mount board, clean up wires and set the batteries. Fingers crossed I didn’t cross anything up!

Ran wires from starboard speakers along front wall of aft compartment- through engine compartment with tubing to protect then to the port aft area with the amps etc.

Used some zip ties to hold up the speakers while I wired and mounted them - friendly reminder to pre place your heat shrink on the wires before you solder them. SMH 🤦‍♂️

Ok test run - everything wired up. Luckily no pops! No smoke! I did have a couple of the cabin speakers crossed so the starboard bow and the stern port speakers were on the same left zone smh. But quick wire switch after I figured out I had mis-labeled. Next is wire clean up, mounting and 2nd battery mount.

Lowering the tower is no longer an easy 1 man job.. added weight of the speakers made it tough. Thinking about spring or counterweight for the tower stop cables. Anyone ever done that? Maybe I should start a thread on it… figure a 20-40lb offset force may do the trick?

How are you running the connections from the head unit to the amp? Did you pull the cup holder on the transom to gain access?

Didn’t need to. Pulling the cup holder would be a last resort but there is no need. First install I pushed a fish through from the head unit opening to the rectangular opening in the back wall. This install I could touch the head unit from getting inside the storage compartment. My head was up next to the exhaust resonator. From there actually used the existing zip ties (that hold all the stock wiring) to hold the rca cables. I’m 6ft and 180lbs wasn’t that bad getting in there… but if I was a really big guy I wouldn’t have done it.
