So I've had my 212X about three weeks and absolutely love it. This past week I decided to order some replacement racks to hold the surf and wake boards. The previous owner put an aftermarket rack on and mounted it to the lower tube on the tower that runs next to the windshield. When I went to take it a part it looks like they didn't use the correct size and they drilled a couple of holes in it and screwed it to the tube. When I finally got everything off the tube had three holes drilled in it. My questions are 1, should I be concerned about the structural integrity of the tube and 2 what to do about the holes? Should I put the screws back in or is there something that I can fill them with to keep out rust or corrosion? Any suggestions?

Congrats on the new boat! I also just bought a 2015 212X. I would not think the holes would be a problem structurally, maybe one of the engineers will think differently. Some black RTV silicone would do the job sealing the holes and hiding them.

Unless they are massive (say 1/2" or more) they shouldn't be an issue at all. For reinforcement and cosmetic sake you could (tap the hole if needed and) install (use blue loctite) a set screw in each. Yamaha did exactly that for some obsolete holes from a tower bimini recall.

Another option: Buy a Big Air flag holder. :)
