Looking at buying the new AR210 at the end of this month. Can't afford to go 24' but would like to make the trip to Bimini next year. Honestly, how does the 21ft boat handle the trip?

Franklin said it best, Don't put of until tomorrow what you can do today.

Five Bimini Flings were led by @uppderdeck in his 212 including the two roughest crossings. 21 foot Yamahas can handle any crossing I would consider making.

Adding to that the 212 and 210 series share a hull. The 212 has more powerful engines. The current 21' hull is likely a slight improvement over the previous design in rough water.

My 19' made it over and back just fine last year. I see no reason why the 21' wouldn't do better. I'd be taking the 19' over again this year if I hadn't traded up to the 24'

Looks like we are going to go with the 24' so I guess now it shouldn't be an issue. What 24 did you get, AR? Blue?

Yeah the AR in blue. Love this freaking thing! The 210 just wasn't going to have enough performanc. We bought from cycle springs. Good people....

That's the north sandbar by Anclote. The water on the west side was crystal clear

Nice. We haven't checked that out yet but might have to make a run up there.

My experience was that the 21' handled wonderfully on all of our crossings, including the rough ones. I haven't crossed in a 23' or 24' so I really don't have a way to compare. If your criteria is Bimini, I wouldn't hesitate with our boat. I would caution about the 19' models because they have a single engine and small fuel tanks, but some have crossed with us just fine too. Your crossing experience is down to the conditions and the way the boat is handled by the captain and NOT a few feet of difference between a 21' and 24' model.
