This weekend we were lucky enough to have replicas of the Nina and Pinta in port in Little Rock. We took the kids to explore them. They are on an annual loop of the east coast and Mississippi river. This years loop is almost over but I encourage you take your family to visit them if they are in your area.

They offered a number of souvenirs. We left with a map of Columbus's voyages and a pair of t-shirts.

We finished the day with dinner at an Indian restaurant on the way home.

Looks like a great time!!!

Man, those things are small.

I've wanted to that loop for years! How do I sign up on one of those boats?

Hard to imagine the discomfort/misery associated with crossing the Atlantic aboard one of those things! Tough people, that's for sure.

Nice pics but sorry to disappoint all of you. Sadly, my AR240 is what you are looking at. Its is showing some wear and tear. But it has the nice teak decking and all the rigging mods I put on it. I added 5, yes 5, wake board towers and speakers to all of them. I had to run 8, 10,000 watt amps and and a couple of really big guys banging on drums in the hold that I call, subwoofers. The Queen of Spain liked it. I even got her to wakeboard behind it. We topped out at 8kts! And I put nerfs in the Head to prevent blowouts.

Anyone got a service manual for a 1642 5 master? And how many ballast bags should I add?

I was going to ask if those are the size of the actual ships but the posts imply they are. Give it up to Columbus and his crew for having the balls to cross the Ocean in those boats. I'm sure some of the sail boats I saw this past weekend are bigger and probably safer / more reliable.
