While you were waxing we were putting ours in the water for the first time. Had a nice evening on Lake Zumbro. Needed jackets but it was still a lot of fun. Only saw 2 other boats. One of the two was also a maiden voyage. Toughest part was keeping to the breakin schedule. Thanks to @txav8r 's checklist the launch and recovery went smoothly. Only item I missed was, after the covers were back on and I'm about to get into the truck, I heard my phone ringing from inside the boat. Oh well.

Oh NO! LOL...well, how many times have I climbed back under the cover to get something either I or someone else left in there! At least you don't have to undo the whole thing. Add that to the checklist!

Oh no! I just KNOW that's going to happen to me one of these times. LOL

Glad to hear people are making it to the water around here. Yes, Mel should add that to the checklist,, and also keys, wallet and beer..I think I have forgot them all at one time or another.

I've debated whether to cover or not cover on my short trip ( less than 15mins ) to lake Zumbro. At first I was going through the hassle of covering because there was road construction and lots of dirt movers creating a new road just off HWY 12. But as the days became shorter and shorter I ditched the cover and just would cruise to the lake. I found that my boat wasn't getting much dust/dirt in it. The key is to make sure you have everything secure. I velcroed the bottom of my passenger seat cushion and store the cushion in front of my transom walk through. I keep my head door open blocking wind into the center of the boat and windshield closed. Make sure the windshield strap is snapped otherwise it will flap in the wind and can scuff up the gelcoat around it. (good add to the checklist) I take down the flags because they shred quickly at hwy speeds. Bugs on the tower and wakeboard forks are my biggest issue. I need to coat them in silicone spray this year.
