AR 195 first oil change

Hello all. I posted previously about pricing on a used boat and everyone was very helpful, so thank you! I ended up pulling the trigger on a new 2017 AR195 and we are absolutely loving the boat! My question is about the first oil change. I got the break in done and have had a few trips. This past weekend, our lake friends did not have their boat due to being serviced. I started the weekend with 7 hrs on the engine and we ended up going pretty well past to 18 hrs due to being down a boat. Am I screwed? What , potentially, should I be aware of by going that far past the first oil change? Boat is running great and I kept a close check on oil level. Thanks in advance!

You're fine. Just change it as soon as you can. You will also need to add grease to the intermediate bearing housing per your owners manual.

No sense stopping the fun to do work. Soon enough you'll be in the garage changing out the oil. If you run it on the hose for 2-3 mins its plenty warm to change. I usually use an electric extractor pump on my 190 and it pulls nearly all the oil out. On my first oil change I checked and re-gapped two of the 4 plugs too.

Through the dipstick tube.

I use this. It was less than $18 and has served me well. Its got alligator clips to attach to a battery. Drains the engine in minutes, no pumping, just hold the tubes.

can anyone provide more of an explanation to greasing the immediate bearing? My oil change kit and pump will be here on Friday and I would like to be out on the water Saturday with no worries. Also, I could be incorrect but I do believe the manual says that the bearing doesn't require grease until the 100 hour service??

You fill the bearing housing with 1.11-1.18 oz at 10 hours and there after add 0.20-0.27 oz every 100 hours. Check page 114 in your manual or see this thread https://jetboaters.net/threads/ar195-intermediate-bearing-housing.14052/

Each grease gun is a little different so check to see how much your grease gun puts out per stroke. Then calculate the amount of strokes you need for the required grease you want to add. For my gun it puts out 4 oz per 100 strokes, so that was 29.5 pumps which I put in just shy of that as I could feel it was getting harder to pump so I stopped around 26-27 pumps IIRC to be safe to not blow out the seal.

If your local dealer has this stuff it's what Yamaha calls for. My local dealer didn't have that grease because it used to be impossible to find anywhere so I went with an Aluminum Complex (marine blue) grease. I use the same grease for my bearing buddy hubs.
