I know it’s overpriced for a piece of aluminum and a spare plug, but still happy I bought it. I figured I paid extra for someone’s ideas and design cost.
The fact it holds the drain plug and the magnet holds it all to the trailer is awesome. Always there, and saves a bit of time when launching and retrieving which means more time on the water. Well worth $30 to me.

Does your boat have a drain plug that totally detaches from the hull?

My previous 2006 and current 2010 Yamahas have drain plugs which hang out of the drain when not fully installed. As such, I have not lost one, yet anyway.

Actually, if a picture is worth a thousand words, here are two thousand words.

Neat idea until you lose the wrench or lose the plug. I trailer with my boat unplugged to drain all the residual water inside the bilge so I would have to remove it put it somewhere then lose it lol. I am into simplicity, less parts, less thing to worry about. I never lost a drain plug either as it stays like Ronnie showed in the picture.

I always keep a spare drain plug in my toolkit in the boat. I actually have a couple. And a couple more in the boat locker in garage. Mine hangs out of the keel hole as well. But, sooner or later some clown is going to think it is funny and come and cut it off while in a parking lot, gas station or where ever. I guess that amuses them. Heard of it happening. I don't want to have to go look for a plug at 6:00 am or when quite some distance from any stores. I guess you could use one of the other plugs in the boat, but that is a PITA as well.

I would hate for that wrench, which I am sure holds well, to have some sort of issue or debris gets around it and it goes bouncing down the road at freeway speed into someone window shield.

I was surprised how strong the magnet is. I can't see it coming off. I've trailered about 200 miles with it so far and no issues.
