Anyone want to share their boating bucket list?

So far mine is Florida to Bahamas (hopefully cross this one off in 2020) and one non-jetboat goal of sailing across the Atlantic.

I'm with you on the FL to Bahamas. Hope to be comfortable enough with the boat next year to plan for a 2021 trip. Still a lot of projects to do on this one.

Florida to Bahamas is coming up 8 months that is easy .....

the Atlantic can be done on jet boat too. From what I recall the furthest stretch from land is less than 150 miles. There is enough room on the boat for 2 people, life raft and 75 gallons of extra Fuel. Needless to say it is cheaper to loose the JetBoat during the crossing than buying. A sailboat just for that purpose.

The Great Loop is certainly on OUR list meaning that my wife is onboard with the idea. I'd love to have a sailboat and take off on the oceans, but my dear wife doesn't like the leaning part of sailing. A catamaran would solve that problem, but then there's the working of the lines and sails to make it go. That's just not her thing, at least right now!

Easy Peasy, you do not have to heal over all the time, just let the sheets out some and you can sail a monohull pretty flat. Catamarans sail pretty flat. They sail fast down wind but do not sail as well pointing into the wind. My wife has issues with healing past 10°. We spent a lot of time this Summer sailing in very low winds and keeping the boat flat with sail trim. She was much better by the end of this season. You guys got this! Love sailing...we spent $13 on diesel over two Summers of Sailing.

The sailing and/or living on a sailboat (temporarily) is on my list. I have sailed a few times in the BVI on a catamaran and the grenadines on a monohull.

Check out "abandon Comfort" videos on YouTube if you like this sort of thing. @zipper has done it right and wins the prize

We like to stay local. Normally hitting the South Eastern Virginia sand bars. Next season I want to hit some Virginia lakes like Lake Anna, Smith Mountain Lake, Kerr Lake, and maybe even Lake Gaston.

I would love to do Bimini, but our little 195s will not like that crossing. Destin Florida could be an option though.
