That time of year and on the first outing I need to replace my bunk boards and carpet. I have all of my new hardware and stainless steel staples, just need a good source for carpet. So where did you go?

Thanks in Advance!

I am doing the same thing. I have found several places to get the carpet but I am not sure of the quality! I also have to replace the tires (they have spider cracks etc.)

I remember on the old board that a handful of people found a person on ebay that had good bunk carpet but I cannot remember the link and I am too lazy to go to the old board to look. :)

I bought mine at bass pro shops...have one very close. It has held up well. They also have at west marine.

just redid mine. my Home Depot has something called Beaulieu Dayside. it's outdoor with rubber backing, 100% UV protection, and has a heavier weight. works/looks great. 6sqft for under $30.

I think I got mine from Overton's. They are close so shipping is fast.

I seen that also on ebay @Glassman but didn't know if 8" wide was enough. My math says no. 2 x 6 x 10 board so actually 5.5 + 1.5+1.5 = 8.5". I think I am going to go with who @Murf'n'surf used. I assume that the quantity is per foot, so 34 is 34 feet?

When I had my old 230, I replaced all the boards, added new hardware and I purchased my carpet at Lowes. I am not sure how it held up...but maybe @MOA_Chaser can chime in. I also purchased the outdoor glue there as well as stainless steel staples.

As a matter of fact I still have some of it...not much, but just enough that I will be able to make a nice mount for amps one day :) Looks exactly like what you posted above from Murf

Still holding up fine...

Might make another trip to lowes then!!

Good point...If I remember correctly, when I re-covered my bunks I went right over the old stuff...figured it would help lesson the impact since most of my wear was exactly where the boat first strikes when I load the boat on the trailer. I think I used some 10" wide stuff I got at West Marine or Boater's world.

Are you guys ditching the silly little OEM lag bolts M.F.I. used? I did. ;)

When you went over the old carpet did you still glue it or just used staples on the bottom?

I used staples...and to be honest, I ran out of stainless and used the regular kind to finish.
You know how that goes....said to myself, "I'll get some and go over it"...sure I will

Sorry I could not respond yesterday, as we were in Atlanta all day and got a little busy.

Here is THE seller of boat carpeting. He is like the on-line guru. Lives and sells outta Dalton, GA, which as many of you may know, is THE CARPET CAPITOL of the USA. He has all kinds of "marine carpeting."
His eBAY user name is even: "Boatcarpetsales"

Rather than try and choose what you might want, I am listing here his "Ebay store."

http://stores.ebay.com/boatcarpetsales?_trksid=p2047675.l2563

I have purchased from him several times for bunk carpeting, and
I can assure you two things:
1) You'll be VERY pleased with his merchandise
and
2) You will not touch his price elsewhere.

Hope this helps many of y'all ...... I am back off to doing more "boat mods."
Y"all play nicely now in the sandbox, y'hear ? !!! Mikey Lulejian - Lake Oconee, GA

Total agreement with @Glassman.
I spoke to my lift dealer, and asked what HE uses to attach carpeting to bunks, and lift boards ......... and he simply Staples all of his carpeting as well. Since he is rated as #1 on our Lake, that's good enough for me. Hope this helps you, Mikey Lulejian - Lake Oconee, GA

HINT: Make sure you use a DEEP ENOUGH STAPLES however, "Short" staples will allow the carpeting to pull loose over time !
