Looking at getting a Eight.3 Telescope Ballast Pump - 3700 GPH and it requires a 20 amp circuit. Anyone tell me what our boats are set up with? I have a 2013 242 LS. Could not find the info on it with google search.

Thanks.

The helm power is feed by one 20 amp fuse (going on memory for the fuse size and pretty confident it is not any bigger) back by the batteries. I would run a dedicated circuit with its own fuse to power the pump.

Good idea! Thanks.

It's not 20amps, it is much smaller, I was thinking 12 amps...It won't run those big pumps at all, plenty of write-ups about guys blowing them with the high power Airhead pumps.

So having a dedicated 20 amp cigarette outlet straight from the battery seems to be the best option.

It would be much better. The courtesy 12V is designed to charge cell phones and the like, not to supply power from high draw items. A number of guys, including @Julian , have added 20+amp 12V power receptacles for that very thing.

Do you have an alligator clip option? Or just hard wire it in with an in line fuse.

I could do it either way. I think I'd like to have a permanent wired in solution install it in a non conspicuous place more toward the aft area of the boat to make it easier for blowing up tubes or filling bags.

That is where most guys have installed one!
