more progress this morning... a filler and a new faceplate... it shoud be known that a while back i reinforced the DIN opening with a bezel trim kit from amazon which i bonded in with MEK so the lip around the DIN hole is 1/4 thick ABS

Wetsounds head unit all wired up sounds great... Moved it to its own fused seperate circuit as I had the Garmin the VHF and the AM/FM all running off the same dash master switch/breaker as the GPS and the VHF Radio.. this is better now the radio and the amps are separate from two way comms and Main Bus Garmin GPS/Sat Weather/XM Radio Nav. Aux Bus has radar and GPS chart plotter all with individual switches and current protection as well...

Ok i had enough of the junk marine Audio... I just ripped out all of the PYLE class A/B units and ordered new a new NVX MVPA2 600w RMS (1200w Peak) Class D IP67 WATERPROOF amp for the Subs It will run 2 x 200W RMS at 4 ohms and 2 x NVX MVPA4 600w RMS (1200w Peak) Class D WATERPROOF amp that will run 4 x 100w RMS at 4 ohm... I buy Cannon Ball Saxophones, VOX and Fender Tube Amps, Peavy Sound Boards, Fender and Gibson USA gitboxes and 11,000w Behringer EuroLive Class D powered speakers... why was I cheaping out on the boat??? I don't really know... Class D amps are a bunch more efficient and these are said to live well in a damp environment. they are totally sealed and have a gasketed cover plate for access to the tuning...

amps will be here on Friday...

so I had my hissy fit with that PYLE O' crap trio of amplifiers... and ripped them all out all $120 worth... the new ones showed up a day early!!! here are the replacements all wired up and initial settings set ready to install in the boat tomorrow... I can never remember my signal processing so I printed out a chart to help me... something to do with my EE stuff 40+ years ago LOL and too much beer and too many concussions since then... so i got a tad less than $700 in these.

these things are sealed up pretty good... so ill leave them open whilst im tuning but it should be a set, seal up and forget kinda thing as I can bring out the gain from each amp on a seperate control if needed... the biggest thing is to be able to adjust the sub volume from the remote. each amp is rated at 600w RMS and 1200w Peak driven into 2 ohms Im driving everything at 4 ohms so I get 2x200w rms at the Subs (195w rms each) and 8 x 100w rms for the mains (65w rms) so if I wanted to add some 4 inchers up front and another pair to 6.5's or 8's on the tower the amps are 2 ohm stable and will run rated output (it was loud before and the subs fill out the sound nicely)

Sending everything below 400Hz to the subs on Zone 2, sending 400Hz and up to the main cabins on zone 1 and 200Hz and up to the bench and towers on zone 1 thats where I'll start and tune from there out in open water so the neighbors won't get pissed ... the other neat feature is that the wetsounds maintains the offset of the zones when you move the master...
