Was wondering if anyone replaced their courtesy light switch on a 2007-2009 SX/AR 230 with a DTDP style switch so that they could hook up interior and swim deck LEDs. This would allow you to do interior on or interior and swim deck on. Kinda a poor mans 2 zone setup. Only would not be able to just have swim deck lights on.

Thanks,
Colin

I like that idea and will see what options have been done. I was wanting to look into something similar but have not researched new switches yet that match. Here's hoping someone has.

Cool idea...I just wired mine into a 4 Gang switch I already had installed....which now has GPS, perfect pass, accessory outlet and LED lights on it.

I started to do this last year. I found that it was more complicated than I expected. I believe that the negative side was switched instead of the positive.

I will post photos when I complete the project.

I assume it would work just like the Nav/Anchor light switch. Is that thinking correct?

I wonder if someone has the service manual and could contribute the wiring diagram.

@cozilla I expected to find +12 to the center pin of the factory switch. I wired in a DPDT switch based on that expectation and found that the LED light controller that I added did not work. I believe that after getting my multimeter out I discovered that the center pins were 12 -. This certainly can be made to work. I got mine working enough to demonstrate the LED controller and get family approval for the project. But it was bed time for the kids and I left the final assembly for a day when I have more time.

Cool thanks for the heads up on that @Bruce. I will have to look and confirm if it is 12+ or 12=.
