Ok this is my 3rd post with a problem I have.long story short port side engine blew. The hose coming off the block going to the rubber boot attached to the throttle body is blowing vapor and oil into the intake and at high rpms you lose rpms and blacken the plugs.this has happened on the first engine and now on a new short block.anyone ever seen this issue? My Yamaha mechanic just ran the engine without the breather hose on and blew oil all over.anyone any ideas?

Did you ever figure out what was causing your issue with oil getting into the intake? I made sure my oil is at minimum oil level and I am still getting oil getting blown into the intake on my 2012 SX 240. At idle both engines show same pressure out of the breather tube so I am ruling out blow by. I know in 2010 Yamaha used oil catch cans on 1.8 engines and it appears they eliminated them in 2012 MY.

As @BADSLED suggested, make sure oil level stays between high and low marks on dipstick at all times. The biggest problem occurs when oil level is too high and oil gets forced up the breather tube into the airbox.
