I just realized that my boats cup holders and "glove compartments drain right into my dry storage is that normal?

Yes it's normal. Yamaha did not bother with piping in any drains for those cup holders. You can plug them, seal them up or if you want to go all out and do it right you could run tubing back to your bilge.

Thank you! Well that sucks I think I'm going to cover all of those little drains then with silicone! I would like dry storage to be as dry as possible

I guess I did it right because I bought hose and ran them all to the bilge. I was tired of all my storage compartments being wet.

Some boats have plumbing back to bilge, but it's certainly not uncommon to just let it go to the storage area. If it really bugs you, plastic tubing is really cheap. I would think it would just end up clogged anyway because the diameter is so small.

I put screws with washers that fit snug in the hole. Keeps the water from draining into the boat nicely. I am in a covered wet slip and the swim platform cup holders would get drenched occasionally and cause water to build up in the boat. Now they will overflow instead of drain into the boat.

Now this explains how that water from the rain gets in to the dry storage! But forget about the water, what about all that beer that gets spilled?? Need to seal them ASAP.

Or install a beer reclamation system.

I sealed mine with silicone, but later removed the seal as it was a pain to clean and dry them all before I put the cover on. Now that the boat lives in my garage without the cover on all the time I may re seal or this winter Ill run tubes to the bilge.

If you end up running tubs let me know how that goes for you. I also sealed mine with silicone but I know that the proper method should be plumbing it all.

Best thing I did was fill those holes I don't think I would run the plumbing for them. I don't get enough water in them to need to do that. What I do recommend is covering the cup holders while washing the boat. This is the only time you will get more water into the cup holders.

My Gray Yamaha cover started to leak like crazy this summer, getting my dry storage wet from cup holders drain. I used Star brite waterproofing with PTEF to seal the cover which helped a little.
