Those might be a bit high. I think they have a 2.6 gallon version that's a little lower. Great price!

Yup. "Headroom" is at a premium in the head compartments even on the newer boats. The 5-gallon pottys are taller than the 2.5-gallon versions and could make an already uncomfortable situation even more uncomfortable. Every 1/2" counts in there.

We have a 2.5 gallon Thetford that works fine. We've spent full days on the water (as in not returning to land for 8+ hours) with 7 people (2 adults, our four kids and one "guest kid") and had it getting close to full, but never to the point that we had a crisis.

'Course, we don't serve bean burritos and Blatz beer for meals while on the water either... ;)
