Greetings all.. Picked up a Challnger 230 430hp. I knew the SCs needed rebuilt, but found out I was missing a clutch so I had to pull it apart and clean out one of the engines. At the assembly portion now and need some detail on the drive shaft. Reading the shop manual it says the telltale groove needs to be covered by the PTO seal bearing, but does it need to be seated into the groove? My seal covers the telltale, but I can pull it back with my hands to expose the telltale.

Quote from manual "if telltale is visible push pto seal assembly rearward to fully extend it."

Just want to know if I am good before I install the rebuilt SC and close up most of my access to the shaft.

Appreciate the assistance from wiser minds.
