Good article. I hope it also resonates with those who speed through "no wake" zones as that could have caused a total boat loss or worse, a potential death.
 
Yikes.

They say that that it was just dumb luck, but the reality was that decisions made long ago DID prepare them: Fire retardant materials and plenty of fire extinguishers saved their lives. These items were not in place by accident. These items were there because they planned ahead.

Yes, they had a little luck but I think they drew more from their bag of experience than from their bag of luck that day.
 
Wow. Makes me think I have never had a fire drill with my family. That has to change.
