This is a custom build since I couldn't find anything like it for our boats.

I'm sure I overbuilt this seat by using 3/8" aluminum plate. It could probably be done with 1/4" plate.

I'm hoping to land some whoppers with this thing!

I'm planning on installing it in the cockpit table location. I can't see how there would be any angular pressure on the post. Its really no different than the captain's seat.

Pretty sure @Sotally Tober can speak to the forces those table post holes can withstand...

That looks like a great job. Love the way you sandwiched that swivel in there, that's something I probably wouldn't have thought of

The stripper pole is attached at two points which eliminate most of the angular force on the table holder.

At minimum you should check into what kind of re enforcement is in place around the table mount and plan on beefing it up.

I've had the floor up already. There are steel crossbeam supports under the floor on either side of the floor socket. The floor itself is probably an inch thick or so.

The stripper pole is supported only in one direction, it still allows side to side movement. It is also much taller, allowing greater forces to be applied by a longer lever.

The leverage on the seat would be limited to the short seat shaft and the weight of the body sitting on top of the seat. There would be almost no force applied in any significant direction other than downwards when reeling a fish in.

I'm certain it will be fine, but I will also report back once I've used it!

Part 14 looks like the cross beam support._20140323_210405.JPG

Part 14 is cross beam support, on my 210 I have two going across with the aft one right below the table holder.

My biggest concern is finding an OEM quality table leg/stanchion of the proper length. The cockpit leg is 24.5 long, more of a stool height. The short leg is far too short. The RV style with the crimped ends are too thin. I'm considering cutting a tall leg down to size and either reproducing the taper some way, or welding it together after a chunk is cut out of the center. I need a post about 18" long.

I remember someone posting that they found a source for the table legs in multiple lengths. This was many years ago.....
Sure looks like the support is under the floor and you'll have no issues!

I believe I found a table leg source. Springfield makes the posts I found, but I'm not certain if they are the OEM manufacturer. They have a ton of different lengths. I went with 17" for my seat post.

I found them very reasonably priced too! http://www.cascadedepot.com/servlet/the-535/Stowable-17"-Table-Pedestal/Detail

The prices for these are about 1/3 of a Yamaha OEM leg of the same size.

I saw that about two months after ordering all my parts. Its is a very cool idea! But not applicable for the trolling that my seat was designed for.

I got my legs in the mail today. I can confirm these are identical to OEM. Probably are in fact OEM. Far cheaper too!
