In the middle of my 2nd season at my marina and always had to pull in straight. Always hated it for 2 reasons. Loading/unloading people and gear over the bow is a hassle, especially when the boat is nearly full raised up. 2nd is putting the cover on, I always finish at the rear and my dock does not go all the way to the end of my boat. So I have to climb back up the boat on the cover and shimmy down the tower. Always fun with a buzz. Asked my marina owner at the beginning of the season to reverse my bunks so I could back in, he said he would when another boat comes in and needs bunk work. Well someone is getting my slip and I'm moving to a new one tomorrow. Pretty excited. Anyone else exclusively back in for the same reasons I mentioned? Also be nice to pull my drain plug and check the pumps after each day as well.

There is a 210 that is backing in right next to me in slip ~20. I was going to talk to Dan about doing the same thing for next year. I have lived with jumping off the back to the dock 4 years now! I will be interested to see how you like it.

I'll be in slip 115 after tomorrow, rain or not, I'm headed up to move it. I just told Dan whenever he could, new v-hull boat coming into my slip and he's converting a toon slip like I want. Are you in the first row near the river?

Second row from the river. Black 242. If you look you will see how Dan added a two motor lift for mine since my tower doesn't fold. 2 years ago it flooded and Dan had to remove my tower for me so the boat didn't get crushed! Great guy. Were you the white one in the row furthest from the river?

Yep, was the 3rd slip, now 6th, from the parking lot.

Nice to meet ya! Check on my boat for me tomorrow. Haven't been up there since the 4th. Next Saturday for sure though! Cheers.

I want to do the same with my lift. I am currently pulling in forward and while pulling in is easy, the rest of the process sucks. I think it would be awesome to have the swim platform just off the edge of the dock. I am going to talk to the lift installer about turning my lift around so I can back in next season. Take pics when yours is done.

I back in and always have since I got my lift. Love it, easy for everyone and everything. The only semi challenge is backing in, but it is easy once you get the hang of it.

My marina tight, but typically really calm waters, its about maybe 30 feet between the end of my bunk and the jet ski floats. I will get good at backing in. Or at least good at getting people on the swim platform to guide me in.

We use an extendable grab pole to guide the stern in then we kill motors and pull rest of the way. Way worth the on/off convenience.

We have always backed her in onto our lift.
For convenience you can't beat it.
When the wind is running the wrong way it can be a challenge to get lined up...the learning curve was steep, the evidence is on both sides of the stern where I bounced her off the sides of the slip a time or three.
Once you get the maneuver down though it's pretty easy and looks cool as hell!

I am not good at reverse driving I have found out. But I will have to learn.
