I need some educated information from someone please. I greased the inter. bearing on my boat yesterday and I picked up the wrong grease gun by accident. Instead of using marine grade grease, I used general purpose grease. Will this hurt it this one time? I don't know. Please advise and thank you for all the help.

Don't sweat it. That grease on my boat is only for keeping the seal from drying out. The grease doesn't reach the sealed bearing. I think it's still the same on newer boats, I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Just realized you are just up the road from me...give a shout if your headed to PCB one weekend.

Thank you Shasta. I will if I head down that way next year.

I was worried about doing this same thing. So I should be good to use the same grease I use on my trailer bearing buddys?

Most of us use the same grease as in the wheel bearings as it's just simpler.

Great! That'll save me a drive to get the super special yamaha grease. Thanks!
