Just pulled my impeller off to switch to another that had been repitched and when I pulled the pump and shaft out the impeller was loose on the shaft. I thought the reverse thread would keep that from happening. How tight do you go when putting it back on? Waiting to hear from someone before I reinstall. I used the cheater bar and leaned in to it pretty good. Is that all you folks do?

Never heard of or experienced that before... It's typically a struggle to "break" it loose. Some will come off more easily than other.
Not necessarily a concern, there is really nowhere for it to go, unless something else is missing.

I don’t believe that I tightened mine beyond wrench tight when I installed the new ones.

You missed out on all the fun of breaking it loose on the removal!

This time I took the cheater bar and really put it on tight. Hopefully this was just a fluke.

Nothing worse than preparing with a long bar, brace yourself, and give a huge yank and almost fall because it wasn't tight at all. You Look around in embarrassment to make sure no one saw you almost hurt yourself.
