Holidays do get pretty bad. It's not the same as it once was years ago. Now you need to get there pretty early (sometimes a day in advance) to get a good spot and you can launch from where you set up camp also...or at their sketchy launch area. One big plus is that its free... All in all we always return year after year because it so much fun. We've tried Telephone Cove on the Arizona side. I'm not a big fan. It's very shallow to launch, and during the summer, we couldn't even find a spot to set up camp. How is it over there on the Nevada side? It looks pretty nice. Is that where you launch from? We usually hang out on the beaches by the dam.
Do you camp there or stay in a hotel/house?Its still up in the air for me. I have a week long trip setup for Lake Havasu the June 10th week.
I've seen some of those resorts at Lake LV show up occasionally on Groupon too for really good rates. Although that was probablly during a slow time.Just a heads up....We enjoy staying anywhere on the Colorado River. We’ve stayed at condos/casinos/hotels/camping from Laughlin to Havasu. One of our favorite trips was to Lake Las Vegas (no boating on Lake Las Vegas). I never heard of it, but we gave it a try. The resorts are 15 minutes from Lake Mead, and 20 minutes from the Vegas Strip. It gives you a lot of options. Mead reminds me a lot of Lake Mohave, but the resort (I feel) is a lot nicer than any Laughlin or Havasu hotels. I enjoy all of it, but it’s definitely worth trying!

I booked my trip (weekend after Memorial Day) on Travel Zoo at the Westin. Breakfast included for $100 per night plus $30 nightly resort fee. I think it’s a good deal!I've seen some of those resorts at Lake LV show up occasionally on Groupon too for really good rates. Although that was probablly during a slow time.
That's not bad. I've never boated at lake mead, where are the hotels with available trailer parking?I booked my trip (weekend after Memorial Day) on Travel Zoo at the Westin. Breakfast included for $100 per night plus $30 nightly resort fee. I think it’s a good deal!
Nice. LMK how the parking situation works out. I'll be out at laughlin memorial day weekend. Since it's a pain to get out of LA I typically leave a day or two before the weekend actually starts. We stayed at the Hilton @ Lake Las Vegas last time. They have a parking structure that the boat wouldn’t fit. So we had to pay $10 per night to park in a valet area that had oversized parking. It was worth it because we were very close to the front entrance. This time we are staying at the Westin. It looks like they have a big parking lot with plenty of room for the boats.
These resorts are 15 minutes from the launch ramp at Lake Mead.
