Planning to tackle led strip install this weekend, and need a little help on placement.

I've seen lots of pics of leds around speakers. But, they always show the finished product and I'm not sure where the light strip actually mounts.

Do you stick to the exterior of the speaker mount like this? (Minus the masking tape, obviously) And, run the wire under/behind the speaker enclosure.

Or, is it better to cram the light strip up as close to the cushion as possible? I don't think it will be hidden enough there.

This is what I bought, after seeing a thread here where someone used the same.

I guess I'm looking for more in progress pics, or thoughts about placement where they won't be visible during the day (which is 98% of our usage).

Thanks!

Ugh, I just told the wife I was done buying stuff for awhile. Lol

I thought I was missing something on the speaker installs. I didn't think there was anyway what I was mocking up looked good enough. That makes way more sense.

I'll look at it again today to see if I can make what I've got work. Unfortunately, on my boat the area around the speakers are almost the only areas that aren't covered by cushion. Makes hiding these strips difficult.

@jcyamaharider , are those 2 different options above? Or, is 1 of each needed? The first link mentioned being predrilled for JL. I believe I have Polks. Can I drill my own holes, or need to get the correct ring for my speaker? How do the wires connect? I didn't see any pics of terminals for soldering or anything.

No just 2 different items to show what they actually did, none specific to you exactly.
