Need to replace steering cable

I have a 2001 speedster steering cable has gone bad having a hard time getting steering cable out of housing near pump area any suggestions on how to get it out and replace the new one

That is the toughest one to do. You will need an 02 sensor socket that has a slit in it to go around the cable to un-loosen the nut. Cut the cable in half, it will make it easier to remove. I believe there is a nut on the back side in the hull,..you should be able to just leave it since that cable pulls forward to the bow outward if I remember correctly.
