Just took delivery of a new AR240. Purchased out of state and trailered here haven't had it out yet. Both front storage compartments carpet are soaked and the rears are damp. Engine bay there is a tiny bit of water. Everything smells like meldew including the water in the engine bay. Could this just be from cleaning the boat, sitting in the rain then being closed up or something else?

Well that sucks. This is my first boat will take a look when I get home. Thank you.

I also made a temporary repair of my anchor drain to stop the issue. I cut a piece of 1/2 clear tubing about 1" long and put in into the hole from inside the anchor locker. I sealed the outer edge with 5200.

I believe it has helped resolved the issue, but the water damage to the carpets is still evident. My dealer has offered me a free detailing at the end of season to compensate me. I plan on requesting new carpets as well.

I think it's from rain and your cup holders actually drain into the storage compartments. This happened to me a few weeks ago when we had our boat in and uncovered slip however our boat was covered. All I did was open everything up and let it air-dry

That sound like rain or them cleaning the boat.

The cockpit cup holders don't have tubes running into the bilge so if it's raining or washing the boat you're going to get the storage compartments damp at the very least. You can plug them or seal them up and you can also run tubes to the bilge if you want to go that far.

I had the same issue with my new 210. I plugged the anchor locker drain and it has been perfectly dry since.

I've had confirmation from Yamaha that they are checking for this at the factory (anchor locker drain seal). My guess is many of these were built before the began checking.....i hope their QA process isn't faulty!

So I let the storage dry out and put the premium mooring cover on. Had major rainfall, took the cover off and the bow/helm storage is wet again. Mooring cover was on correct. Does your mooring cover let water in?

I have not had that condition, I don't think. I might need to check boat after rain, but I haven't noticed it wet from rain.

Get in the boat and have someone cover it up. Then have them spray a hose on it like its raining . You should be able to see where or if its coming in when it gets water sprayed on it.
