Hi from the sunny south. I live in lower Alabama and mostly at the other home in PCB, Fl. Just picked up a used "NEW", SX 240, blue. Only has 6.8 hrs on it and has the 5 year YES warranty, and the premium black top. My question is: how are the support poles, 4 poles, installed and there location for this top and are they really needed? Looking forward to seeing some of you at Shell Island this year.

I have an sx but its a 2008... not sure which poles u are referring to.. the bimini top? Or the anti pooling poles for the cover?

If you are referring to the anti pooling poles the answer depends. If towing do not use the poles, if the boat is sitting you are going to want to use the poles. I thought there were only 2 poles, maybe someone else with a 24' can chime in.

4 poles could be 2 from the original shipping cover and 2 for the current cover

Also new to jet boating. We are in Chattanooga, TN but also vacation in PCB. If it is the anti-pooling poles there are 2 telescoping poles (so 4 in total if they are dismantled). As said before, white straps to the front 2 cleats, single black strap over the centre windshield and 2 black straps to the rear cleats. Poles extend similar to an umbrella then tighten the straps down.
