New member from Keller GA and need some advice

I am getting an "Engine Communication Error" while flushing. Need a little help.

I'm sorry I have an older boat so not sure about the new error codes and exactly what they mean but someone will chime in shortly,

Have you noticed you interior compartments getting wet ? We'd really like to know if Yamaha has addressed this yet.

Thanks Scottintexas, The interior compartments getting wet issue has been addressed by MarineMax here in GA. They are a great dealership and I was told a few months ago that they hired a tech who had a lot of Yamaha Jetboat experience and knew right away where the problems were (anchor locker, plastic plugs in the back etc.) From what I've read today, there are probably a few other areas needing attention. However, my original problem is no-where to be found in FAQ's or other posts ("Engine Communication Error") and I'm losing precious fishing time. I don't want to drag it back to the dealer (1 hr away) for what I believe is a procedure problem.

here is one post I happened to find, I would think it would be an issue of a cable being loose or unplugged.

When was the last time it ran correctly? Have you done anything lately behind the helm, engine compartment or batteries?

I've not done anything with the boat since I parked it 2 months ago (went on vacation) plus the boat is only 7 months old. I called the dealer and he said he'd have a tech call me back, never did. So I guess I'll drag it back up there and see what it is. I'll let ya'll know. Thanks for the help.

I assume you checked the battery connections? This is a common source of engine errors (loose connections).

Yes, checked battery connections. Problem still there. Hauled it back to the dealer and the Yamaha tech swapped out the Tach (with smart display) and the problem went away. He sent the Tach back for warranty replacement.
