Has anyone else had a buckle break? Does anyone know if it's possible to get just one buckle and line instead of the entire loop? The first line that leads to the right ratchet snapped. image.jpg

It IS possible to purchase a buckle - I would go to a camping store like Campmor - LLBean or similar - or Sailrite.com BUT you will have to take out the stitching and then after inserting the new buckle sew it up again - not hard to do if you have the right equipment - if not take it to someone who makes/repairs boat covers.

Saw some replacement buckles at Ace Hardware the other day. Not sure if you have one of those near you.

I've had several of mine break. I've used a small carabiner looped through the strap loop where the buckle was. I've also used zip ties in a pinch. You'll have to use about 3 of them, though. I carry them with me now. I started using one looped around the existing buckle to help relieve the tension on the buckle. Still looking for a better, more permanent solution.

The buckles are not always universal. Plan on getting one and sewing both sides in. I have dont that a few time its pretty easy. Cam.
