I haven't seen this mentioned before and came across two parts that are WAY overdue for replacement. They are located on the bottom of the air filter canister cap where you don't see them. I don't pull the filters often; but clearly these went bad since the last time I did. I love the name: Optiair Dust Ejection Valve!

They should look like this:

Man, these things really started to break down after 10 years.

I have a new set coming ($11.67 each). I hope they are the right ones. Yamaha doesn't show them in the IPC (only the whole assembly).

I certainly am not going to buy the assembly. Located this part available on amazon: fleet guard service part 3946457S. I will post if it fits when they arrive for anyone with the older boats. I also think it is funny the filter part number the cap references is actually for a hose assembly, not the filter (OEM typo?).

Last year I discovered that some of the non HO MR1 engines have canister style filters. I believe these are common in earlier 210 models.

It is a stock setup for my 2006. The filter is even stamped F1T-U72M3-00. In the Parts manual, that is the hose to the throttle body and the filter is now F1T-U72M1-00-00. Nothing too exciting here; but the dust ejection valve even escaped my photos! My filters still look okay; but I am hoping the part numbers are interchangeable should I ever need to replace.

New parts fit! Here is the part number, a new one installed, and the super floppy stretchy reminants of the old ones. I have been hearing a hissing air noise at higher throttle settings. I'll see if this was why next time out.

You saved my bacon with this photo. Yamaha dealer didn’t have them. Found them at a tractor dealership! Thanks.

Glad I could help @Esteban sx210 the rubber seems to break down over time, so those who haven’t replaced them will if they give ‘em a look.

So the purpose of the "duct ejector" is to accumulate the dust - what dust :^) and then allow it to be "emptied by squeezing the opening open.
Would be better called dust collector

I suspect they don't like the fogging oil or gas and melt - mine are like chewing gum so I tossed them

- see we can learn from tractors -
Could you leave these off I guess but then the "swirl" for the air filter isn't as good I suspect.

Are these same dust ejectors used on the more recent 2018 and up boats too?

Capitán in my own mind

Thanks for the info. Mine is a 2015 and it looks terrible. Melted gum on concrete during a hot summer. Mess on both of them.
