Platinum protection systems

In the process of signing the paperwork on our new boat (2019 212x) the dealer “offered” us this protection for the fiberglass, cushions, and carpets. Normally I consider this snake oil but with some of the new ceramic finishes, I’m interested. Does anyone have any first hand experience with the Platinum Protection System?

That's not a Yamaha standard offering. If you provide some more details on what the dealer is offering, including the price - we can provide some better feedback. Even the new ceramic coatings are a maintenance thing that needs to be repeated.

They want 1300 for everything but the floor under the mats.
They said It has to sit undisturbed for 24 hours after application.

Again this sounds a lot like car salesman nonsense.

Decisions, Decisions!!! The Platinum Protection site has a fancy video but I am none the wiser after watching it. I still have to ask "what is it" after watching. I like the idea of not having to do all of those things before/after a season but I too am now curious as to whether or not anyone has any actual first hand knowledge of just what exactly the Platinum Protection system is. If it were me, for the $1300, I would roll the dice and probably do it and wear that 5 year guarantee out!!! I'm not gonna lie, I'm not the guy who likes taking an entire Saturday to wash, wax, clean, shine, etc... Having said that, this product advertises to alleviate a lot of that time but I also agree with what @seanmclean states above, even the newer ceramic systems have re-occurring maintenance and upkeep involved. Oh and disclaimer.... this response to your initial post will provide zero helpful information. ;D

Get it... use the heck out of spray sunscreen and have them replace seats every 2 years do to discoloration.
