Just took delivery of my AR240, first time jet boater, Gave up my prop last summer for this one. Looking to install a Dometic 970 Porta potty seems to fit well in the head space provided but just to be safe I also purchased the stainless steel mounting brackets. Is it ok to drill them into the floor, any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Just installed one recently, super simple. The mounting brackets come with a hardware kit - tape it down, drill pilot holes, and then screw the brackets down.

Hey, thanks looks really nice. Did you use the screws that came with the installation kit? Did u use any silicone on screws while screwing them in?

Yep, I used the screws that came with - no silicone (though it wouldnt hurt)

Same here. Just installed ours last weekend. Make sure if you buy from amazon, they have the toilets that come with AND without mounting brackets. I got them without by mistake and had to wait a couple more days for hardware. Fits great and super easy install.

What about just installing with some strips of VHB?

How easy is that to clean? I’d like to have something better than a lugable loo for the mrs maybe.

VHB wouldn't work because the bottom part needs to come out for dumping/cleaning. A high strength velcro might do the trick.

Cleaning is easy, the top and bottom separate and you just bring the bottom into a bathroom and dump it out the spout. Less gross than it sounds, but ours is a #1 only toilet. If a #2 goes in, someone else is doing the dirty work.

Nice job, once it's locked down in its brackets does yours have left to right movement? Mine slides within its brackets about an inch?

No movement with mine. Solid as a rock.

You followed the template that came with the little steel brackets?

Mine doesn't move at all. Are you sure it's set fully into the rear tabs? You might have to slide the front bracket back a bit in the slots if the rear tabs aren't catching. The brackets IIRC have slots instead of holes, so you can massage the placement a bit. Try and lift it from the back and make sure the rear tabs are caught.
