No surprise, they are expensive.

My local dealer finally got a 2015 242ls, it was already sold before it was delivered so I couldn't climb around it. It was black with a black tower. Below are the out the door prices of it and some SeaDoo Sparks. This is at a sales tax rate of 9.75% (Alameda, CA).

242ls: just under $70k ( includes boat, trailer, standard warranty)
Sparks ( without trailer)
-2 seat/60 hp $6,800
-2 seat/90 hp $7,600
-3 seat/90 hp $8,800

Wow that is a lot of $$$. I could have almost bought 2 AR210's for that. Hard to justify few extra feet of boat and a few more horsepower for DOUBLE THE COST.
Yes I realize there are a lot more features on a 242ls than an AR210 but at the end of the day we had just as much fun out on the water.

That's the issue I have, too. I think the new boats look incredible and they definitely have great features, but I don't see that I would have more than 2X the fun we have with our current boat. Of course, that equation pencils out differently for different people and I hope they sell every one they make!
