Can you spray silicone all over engine compartment? Thought you could, but it says not to use on plastic. I know there is a lot of plastic in there. Any other products that you would recommend? Can you spray engine with fresh water every now and then? Just trying to keep her clean.

You can rinse off the motors with fresh water. Make sure they are cool and lightly spray them off. Won't hurt anything. I wipe off as much water as I can after I spray then leave the engine hatch open to air dry. Once dried, I spray the entire engine area with boeshield t-9.

+1, I rarely spray down my engine compartment because it usually stays really dry, but when I do I use Salt Away, then light it dry, then spray everything with WD40.

We live in the salt and I use CRC 656 on the motor. I coat it once in the spring and once in the fall. Motor looks new after three and 1/2 seasons!

Same here. When I regularly boat'ed on salt water (Honda ski) I would spray the engine with Salt Terminator, then after it dried I would lightly spray with CRC 656. After 400 hours when I sold the ski it looked brand new.
