Just sharing how I built my boat guides . I bought 2” pipe nipples 10” long, cut off the threads drilled a hole 2 “ from the bottom so I can pin in the guides. Guide poles are 1.5” electrical conduit. Cost breakdown is $20 for the pipe nipples, $8.50 for 3 pins(bought 3 so 1 extra) and $10 for 10’ of conduit that I made 4’ guides out of. I drilled a single 3/8” hole threw the step for drainage and rattle canned rustolium gloss black. I’m not trailering the boat with the guides on . Just sharing what I did so folks have more option.
