hey all i have a few questions. first let me paint a picture. took my boat out yesterday and both engines started just fine. ran them wide out for about 20 minutes. docked ate lunch started them up drove about 1/2 mile in no wake mode anchored up to fish shut them off. decided after a bit to change spots port engine started no problem. starboard engine just clicks when i turn the key. my thought is the solenoid, wiggled the wires same thing. drove home on one engine. took off the solenoid cover this morning and the wire labeled bat is corroded. took both positive wires off cleaned them. while off i noticed the bat wire was burnt and it seem to cause the insulation on the starter wire to burn. after cleaning the terminals i put it all back together and the engine started no problem 4 or 5 times and then started the click again when turning the key. so my questions. 1. could a bad solenoid cause the wires to burn like that? 2. has anyone had a bad solenoid with the same symptoms? 3. what should the boat do speed wise on 1 engine?

I'm on my phone so can't type much but did you go on one engine at no wake speed or have the water turned off to the broken engine?

If you went fast on one engine you could have damaged the other one by forcing water into the cylinders

Search for hydro locked or cooling valves

You should do this asap it's more important than your starter issue
