Does anyone know which model of Rule bilge pump is a snap in replacement for the factory one? Mine has quit working but I am not near the boat right now to look at the model on it.

The 20RS has a 3/4" hose outlet, so the same the stock 500 GPH pump. Depending on how you use your boat you may also want to consider changing to a non automatic pump such as the 20R and adding a float or other sensing switch such as a water witch. The automatic pump can drain your battery if you need to leave the boat in the water for an extended period and don't have shore power and an on board battery charger. There are several threads for this conversion on the forum.

i did replace with the 20RS. I trailer my boat, so no issue of draining the battery with this style pump for me, but i do agree it is not ideal for everyone
the new bilge just snapped right it. I cut the old wire and soldered on the new one.

Thanks everyone. I trailer my boat and boat on a lake also so replacing it with a similar one should be fine.

Thanks again.

I just picked up a new Rule bilge at West Marine a month or so ago. The blue cage that it snaps into has changed slightly. Even though the pump was the same model and size, the way the basket fits on the pump housing has changed. I then decided to just switch to a non auto pump that I wired directly to the bilge switch and added a directly fed bilge switch so I don't need to worry.

Got it replaced this weekend. Easy enough to do but man does it suck reaching down in there. Like reaching into a box of steak knives, I feel like everything has a sharp edge on it in this engine compartment.
