Sotally Tober's Stripper Pole

Progress is being made on Sotally Tober 5's new Stripper Pole.

The design is a departure from my previous boats and is a straight pole (instead of attaching to the tower).

It will need to be mounted to the swim step a bit forward due to zero access in the middle of the step (front to back).

The purple portion is the top of the swim step. The orange section is wood that will be added and fiber glassing to support and reinforce the pole.

Notice the pull pin and bolt we are thinking of using to secure it in place.

The pin is spring loaded and will always remain in.

The spring loaded pin will have to be pulled out to lift the pole out. Access will be via the hatch on the swim platform.

The bolt will be used to create a snug fit

The pole will be stainless steel this go around.

5000 watt stereo near completion with a 4 zone full LED system to compliment it.

Expect photos in about 3 weeks or so.

What are the dimensions of the pole your installing? If there's no upper support I would imagine the sidewall thickness would need to be able to support enough to not snap at the base. Also I would install a double under the swim platform upper mounting flange. Looks cool!

You should add a water pump through the pole and a shower head on top, that would make it fun!!!

The torque on that will be tremendous.....do you plan to go through the deck to the lower part of the boat as a base? That would give it more structure.

Absolutely. The purple portion represents the swim platform. Everything below that will be in the lower part of the boat base. Additionally, the orange portion represents the extra wood to be added and it will be fiber glassed in for extra support.

So my last pole was 1.9" (see my signature pic below). We are still figuring out what is best for this application. The current options are 1.75", 2", or 2.5" stainless steel.

It will be a fixed position pole. I do anticipate some spinning on it though.... =) This is the third pole my buddy has engineered for me and they have all been rock solid.

And if his pole breaks from vibrations, I also don't think I want to know about it.

@Sotally Tober , is the orange part all the way through the swim deck or does it rest on the surface below the top of the swim deck but before the area where the ladder is stored?

I’m curious but not going to ask what your boat will cost as modified, whatever it is, i cannot afford it.
