Surfing by Gps

Yesterday the lake was so filled with forrest fire smoke that visibility was less than 100ft. We ended up surfing by gps using Google maps. Ran nav lights all day. No other boats out. It worked. Cam

Your smoke is even effecting our surfing! It's been a smokey horizon for over a week!

Its like nuclear winter here. Was supposed to be 35C yesterday but the smoke insulates the sun and it was barely 25C. I have about a 1/4 mile visibility from my house but the air is ok. The lake has a disgusting layer of ash and the boat has a black ring around it at the waterline. Was wierd on the water, dead calm, 1ooft visibility, and absolutely no one around. Like one of them cheap horror movies where everyone (without a name) disappears. I wore my nametag. Cam.

We had a family from the UK visiting. Never been boating so we had the day scheduled 3 months previously. Didn"t want to disappoint the kids. New board was not quite done. Finished it yesterday. Cam.
