Cool idea... Where is the how to on filling ballast bags?

I've all but given up on using ballast because it's such a pain in the ass...

That won't be a squirt gun, it will be a pressure washer!!

@trace was the originator of this brilliant idea. He uses (used) it to fill ballast bags. He would only run it at idle and it would fill a bag fast (hopefully he'll chime in with the #s). So I'm going to use it for ballast too, but I also figures it would make the ultimate super soaker! I have a bunch of threaded end nozzles I am going to try to see if restricting it down to 1/2 barb end gives it more distance. I will also test with no wake RPM (perhaps a little higher....we'll see). @txav8r is correct, put too much pressure on this, and it will rupture at the hose barb....so I'll have to be careful with that.

For those that can't wait for the final "How To/Tip" I will write once I've tested the squirt gun part, here is how you make it:
The main part to this little beast is a 3" to 1.5" PVC Reducer. You cut the biggest part (end) off it, then you have to shape it so it fits all the way inside the nozzle. I cut the end off with a miter saw (attached some pipe to it first so I didn't turn it into a pvc projectile in my shed), then used the miter saw to cut off four sides to whittle it down some, then I used a file to further reduce it to fit in the nozzle. Then you take a 1.5" to 1" bushing and insert that, followed by a 1" poly insert male adapter (a grey 1" hose barb adapter). Now you are able to connect it to 1" hose (your choice of type), and then adapt the far end of the hose for your ballast bags (or build a squirt gun). I'll post a couple of pics here of the adapter being made

So it isn't even screwed onto the pump? It is just inside the pump housing and against the nozzle? Maybe it won't rupture, just blow out the mod if you rev it too much.

You open the gate, insert the nozzle all the way into the pump, then close the gate (so it is in neutral-and you can start the engine). With it inserted all the way in, the gate closes over the grey hose barb section and the gate holds it in place.

@Lspeedss I'll be the 2nd person to build this.....so it works.....just not sure if I'll get any distance from it as a squirt gun....but we'll see! @Volffas - didn't take long to build at all....the longest part was filing the nozzle down...I didn't want to take too much off.

I'll get video for sure....even if its an epic fail....it should be amusing! But unfortunately it won't be for a couple of weeks as next weekend we have spring outing with the Y-Guides at Seagull/Seafarer.....unless I figure out how to skip out early this week...but weather looks like a lot of rain!

I'm thinking get a flashing red light call yourself a Fire Boat. No more slow wake zones.
