How long do you hold in the key before you turn the engine over on cold starts?

I don’t have a manual, but I’d start the fan soon as you sit down, give it a while, hold the key in 10 seconds, then hit the starter while holding it in. I’m going to do the pump to prime mod on the key push-in on my Tango. Good winter project.
