So just found a new show on travel channel called boat buyers it's simular to the house hunter shows you see and the couple is about to look at a e series Yamaha curious to see how they compare it to the prop boats. The show is interesting seeing everyone compare boats.

love the technology of today. read this while eating lunch at my desk. pick up phone and pull up my Dish app, search the show and see that it is on today at 4 and 4:30pm. set it to record and now will check it out tonight. thanks for the heads up.

The episode I watched last night the couple looked at a Bayliner 18ft Runabout, 20ft tracker pontoon, and the Yamaha 242 limited s e serries. I thought for sure they were going to pick the pontoon based on the Yamaha being over there budget but I was surprised the actually took the Yamaha. Cool part of the two episodes I have seen is its real people looking for real boats not a yatch buying show. Both episodes these guys were looking at boats in the 20-24 ft range and had budgets of around 50K.

No shoes on boats dammit!!!!! :jimlad:

Whats the name of the show and when does it air?

I did a search for it on directv and found nothing. I searched for "boat buyers"

If you have an Apple TV or other streaming device you can find the show in the travel channel app. Probably have to login with you cable provider to get all the episodes.

we had it set up to record! watched em all! it was quite clearly dramatized, like house hunters, theyve already chosen/bought their boat before the "choice" is made and they call the salesman.

wife and I DID get a laugh, that every time the woman was allowed to test drive, there was a inordinate amount "woo-hooing" and "fist pumping" which is cool on a small speed boat or jet boat or something. or skiff in high water... but theyre trucking along on a HUGE cruiser, in a glass water lake, at about 20mph, gettin all pumped. yeah thats not happening. LOL poor acting guys HAHAHAH

Some of them they didnt even show the brand(you could tell mostly).. BUT they did have a Yamaha on one episode, though they didn't discuss the particulars, just basics. HP weight etc...

But .....so what.

im lookin at boats on TV!!!!!! it was winter too. cant beat that when youre stuck in the cold.

I have DirectTV and I've seen it on the Travel Channel. Personally I wasn't a fan of the show and couldn't stand watching it after I've seen a few episodes. It's like watching one of those lame house hunter shows which I'm just not into. Then again I hate TV for the most part so don't pay attention to me lol.

there is another show called Yacht Buyers for the deeper pocketed folks. Pretty interesting to see what I can't afford lol.

**edit as I thought about this more the show might be called "selling yachts"

I have Spectrum Cable and the travel channel is part of my package, so I've watched a few episodes of Boat Buyer's and it seem to be much more realistic than the home buying shows. I don't watch much TV, but when I do it's nice to be able to watch something about boats for a change!

I am actually on the show boat buyers. They came and filmed me two months ago in austin Texas. A really fun experience. It should air August 20 2017

@Sean Michael Jones - Any chance you can give us a bit more 'behind the scenes' details on the show?
- Did you end up buying your boat before filming then the crew brought you around to other boats (heard that's how the home buying shows go)?
- How much coaching did the show do to make for more entertaining TV, or was it pretty true to life?
- Did you get any sort of discount on the boat purchase because of the show exposing the boat you ended up with (or the dealer)?
- Did they require you to scream 'yahoo!' (or similar) when riding in each boat? I remember one episode that the family couldn't stop hollering during each test drive... I have seen a couple episodes and some have been fun to watch where others have been just OK, but mostly because of how the family 'acted' around the boat shopping. Seemed played up at times to the point of it being annoying.
