Last spring 2015 I installed the pumps
In the fall 2015 I installed the bags and plumbing.
Testing and tweaking still in need this summer.
Been a slow process between work and 4 year old son, also we tried to use the boat rather than work on it all summer.

(2) 600lb bags under the rear seats
(1) 800lb bag in ski locker
(5) 1200 gph tsunami fill pumps
(3) 1200 gph tsunami drain pumps, using single outlet for vent and drain with check valve.
- Of note these pumps due not suck the bag as dry as the reversible pumps. When the aerator pumps loose there prime they stop pumping, just an FYI
- Also tried to plan so to easily use the bag empty pumps as emergency bilge pumps if ever needed.

I installed 5 intake pumps connected to 1-1/4" inlet on rear of the boat. With manual ball valve at main water inlet. Used bolt together design due to space. I should have installed the thru-hull higher and more centered for easier assembly. also note the rear of the boat is not 90 degrees to to the bottom inside, so I used 2 90's to do a rolling offset.

Thru hull fitting was too long, so I shortened it and then had to re-taper the fitting to thread into 90 degree fitting. Strait thread vs national Pipe thread (did not want to wait and reorder parts). Was a brass thru hull and slowly kept tightening the pipe thread manually to taper the thread.

I also put hose clamps on all the poly threaded female fittings, to hopefully prevent them from ever cracking.

All fill pumps get installed under the waterbox. The fit was very tight. I also added sound-down sound proofing to my water-box's which made everything even tighter (info in another thread).

I only needed 3 pumps, but while everything was apart and because I could fit them, I installed 5 pumps. For extra pumps will be for if one breaks (just switch hose in engine compartment, or for more bags in future if needed, or I may want to add a tee and fill bags faster. Piped all 5 pumps with flexible pipe into engine compartment so I could complete at later date.
- Gonna probably add a second fill line into ski locker bag.
- And add a fill port for hose somewhere thru the fiberglass.

Control system, Uses 12vdc board with 12 relay channels and a remote control to control everything on and off. I installed LED's on the side of the control box so I can see what relays and pumps are turned ON ( may add remote display led by helm). It is wired so if main power switch is turned off all pumps turn off. And when you turn back ON everything will be in the off, no run position. had to make it 4 year old proof.

Run the plumbing thru the fuel tank area in 1" pvc pipe.

I will need to get some more pictures of the bag installs when I get the boat out of storage.

Note: For other people planning to do a ballast system. When I did mine I used all 1-1/8" hose and it turned into a pain, because I was unable to buy 1-1/8" fittings locally. Thought I could clamp down the 1-1/8" hose onto the 1" fittings and it leaked everywhere at all joints for me. Had to order the 1-1/8" fittings to correct the leaks and did about 3x's the work after disassembling and reinstalling.

So I would recommend people use 1" hose from my experience.

Would love to see the pix, too.

Let me know if the pictures load. Otherwise I will need to put them on the forum differently. Maybe tomorrow, doing brake job for a friend tonight

That is very neighborly of you. Good on you.

Reminds me of one of my favorite Benny Hill quotes:

"A FRIEND IN NEED...

...is a bloody nuisance."

Impressive work! It would have taken me a year or two just to order all those parts. Well done, sir.

I hope you leave enough water in the Fox River for me to boat on!
How are you controlling the relays? Bluetooth?

It is sad when I don't even recognize some of the parts being used. That is an impressive install!

@buckbuck The control system is self contained. I think the remote and board cost $40 on amazon. The little hand held remote turns each output on or off. I built it into a small control cabinet to make wiring and troubleshooting easier, and also to add fuses to protect the board relays. The terminals on the board are for very small wire and difficult to connect to.

Awesome! It is like a picture book, love it. But man, this is so much work. Looking at it all - I'm still trying to get over your waterbox job! - I totally half-a$$ed mine, it was just so frustrating.

Fill and drain times. Finally

2) 550 lb rear bags 5 minute fill 5 minutes empty
1) ski locker bag 800 lbs 10 minutes, 10 minutes empty
That is filling all 3 at the same time with a common intake and 3) 1" seperate discharges

HI Jim

That was last summer (thanks for the pictures) before I added the motorized wake wedge (wiring into the ballast remote), and perfect pass for this year. still need to test them.
Bringing boat home this weekend, but busy the next 3 weekends already.
Gonna try and do the Chicago loop cruise April 11, but don't know for sure yet.

My ballast friends bought bungee tow ropes for dual tubing, gonna be a good summer.
