What wake tower works with the factory Bimini top for the 08 sx230.. both my boys are getting older 15/10 now compared to 8 and 3 when we purchased the boat.. anyway today was the 1st time we tried to wake board after about 4 hours one of them finally got it. I think it will be easier from wake tower vs the tow point on the back of the boat.. I don't want to replace the big Bimini top that came with the boat what tower goes over it? Any help would be greatly appreciated..

I was in the same situation as you are with my 2014 Regal 1900 with no wake tower. Kids are getting older and want to keep them entertained, so I called around to several shops that install wake towers and all said they rarely are able to utilize the original bimini with new tower. If memory serves me right, a quality tower and new bimini installed was going to cost me close to $5K. I started shopping around and the wife and I fell in love with the new 212X - the rest is history.

I gotta say though, yesterday was the 1st time my wife and 10 year old son tried surfing behind our new boat and they LOVED IT! Not only that, my 8 year old tried knee boarding from the tower for the 1st time as well on our Zup board and he did great! I'm totally RELIEVED and happy with our outing yesterday that we made the correct decision.

I highly doubt you'll find a tower that goes over your factory bimini without mod to the bimini itself. I was in the same situation with my '06 - especially if you decide to add speakers, which I did.
I contemplated modding the bimini but in the end I didn't like the look of the bimini under the tower, the result was a slightly lowered bimini which made me feel a bit more cramped and when I added speakers (which forced everything even lower) I didn't want the tower speakerson top of the bimini either.

So I ended up with an Aerial tower and then added a folding over the tower bimini https://www.bulletlines.com/folding-over-tower-bimini-p/264.htm and am very happy with that setup.

Also note: Once you add a tower you'll have to mod your cover. I tried the AR cover and it didn't fit correctly, so I basically took my cover to a local seamstress and had them sow in velcro slits to fit around the tower points.

I added a Samson Razor tower to my 2013 212SS and love it... Had it "Professionally" installed by my local boat guy... Talk to Will @JetBoatPilot, he was a big help in selecting appropriate tower etc.

Some Towers have an awesome Bimini that has plenty of coverage. I am happier with my Bimini than I am with my tower that it sits on

All the tower Bimini I have seen are so much smaller then the original Bimini that comes with them.. tower is all I'm looking to add not speakers. Have several JL audio 6.5s & 8.8s in the boat and a set of 7.7s mounted in the swim deck and don't use them now. Youngest daughter who is 3 can't hear in the boat and always makes dad turn it down or play Disney songs so I don't see myself adding tower speakers.. A new boat is out the question. Our 08 has around 300 hours on it and is paid off.. wife and I went and looked at a new Yamaha last summer when did the price on these fellas get 65,000..

Mine covers half the windshield and most of the back seats. Was awesome in the rain last night

Aerial freeride
Seems a little flimsy compared to oem style but i ride in more chop than most just seems like connections have slop in them all the time. Love the look and the bimini and my package came with the speakers which sound pretty good with way too much amp behind them, lol

Also, i used my factory bimini under the tower for a while but it was a real pain to get up and down because i had to detach it completely, deploy, and then reattach under tower.

all the room between that tower and the bimini it looks like it would fit over the stock bimini

Yup, that's what i did at first. I mounted the tower technically too high on the boat to do it though. My brother in law is 7 foot tall and he still hits his head on yhe speakers lol

Would it have worked with the original smoothly if the tower was mounted correctly

No. Tower is wide enough not enough headrooom really.
Check the monster mtk tower too
