That's unbelievable. The ONLY bright side I see to this is that it might be a good time to effect some bridge inspection/repair.

I should never complain when the level of the CT River is too high again!
 
The fourth one - Folsom Lake - is just 10 minutes from my house and is where we boat almost all the time. In the "drought" pic, it's still about 40 feet higher than it will likely be by January if we don't get some serious precipitation. It's currently about 40 feet higher than it was last January, but 25 feet lower than it was at its highest level so far this year. Those Oroville pics are crazy. That's a very deep lake (600 feet at its deepest, I believe), much deeper in many places than is shown in the pics. Pics of Shasta would be even more dramatic. It is pretty crazy here and we are in desperate need of a winter that actually drops some snow in the mountains and rain in the foothills and valley.
 
I'm no engineer, but if they can pipe oil half way across continents, surely they could pump water from other states?
