I'm a bit confused about the sizing of the Wet Sounds TC3-F clamp for Icon8s. For the purchase, I needed to specify the leg/tube size - 1 7/8" OD in my case - for the rear leg of 2016 AR240 tower. But the clamp seems to be a generic fit and the dealer info is a bit confusing. This is the fixed mount clamp, very nice piece of engineering, also used in Rev8 and 10 albeit there have been various versions of those clamps.

Can anyone comment - if those are okay to fit on the rear leg of the 2015+ AR240 tower (1 7/8")? Or do I need to mount on the (larger dia) front leg? That appears to be a better fit, maybe?

Those speakers are kind of huge:

@swatski do you have any more pics from your icon 8 install? Just ordered mine today and trying to figure out where I will mount them on the tower. I just ordered mine today with the swivel clamps.

Sure thing. Here you go.
I had them mounted exactly like the OEM, apparently with the AR tower they are positioned for direct impact to the back on the head and neck. ;)
(I'm assuming you've read this: https://jetboaters.net/threads/warning-2015-18-yamaha-“ar”-boat-owners-with-forward-swept-wakeboard-towers.14828/)

Here are happy times. When the AR tower is in the upright position, those speakers actually work great!

@swatski Yes I did read that post. Very unfortunate that that happened. I find my tower bolts about a 1/4 turn out every time I take the boat out. After looking at your pictures, those icon 8's look a lot bigger than I thought they would be. I wasn't sure they would fit on the larger front tower.

Those speakers are huge! Did you find yourself banging your head on them alot? I bang my head on the Polks in my boat 4-5 times a season....
I think it's the impression from up close - those are really impressive.
I don't recall hitting them once with my head. They're sitting up and to the side, right behind the chair. I don't have time to look for better pics, but I don;t think that placement would bother anyone, even much taller than I am. I think the issue with the X tower maybe that it is lower on the inside as compared to the AR, one of the reason I chose the AR... How f@cking wrong was I!!!!

Those guys standing in my boat in the picture above are all 6'+
At 5'9" I would hit my head if it wasn't behind the chair and out of the way. So as far as the risk of head banging - zero issues with this placement.

But I don't really know why am I even looking into this!!!! gives me f@cking whiplash.
I have a lot of unpleasant thoughts going through my head.
I think I am so done with Yamaha.

Should have said "so done buying Yamaha". Not done with Yamaha.

Can you believe they make boats now?

I have the previous model AR240 and the towers are 1 7/8". Clamps should work fine. They did on mine..... E7108E73E3ED2D85E4007350A3F65DEE.jpg
