I use 87 with E10 because the boat is always trailered. It is easier and cheaper to stop at a gas station. I also use ethanol fuel treatment. When on a lake I just fill up at the marina.

89 ethanol free on the water, 89 ethanol at the pump on the trailer - and they both get StaBil (easier for my addled brain to just put it in every time).

87 E10. Its 2016 newer boats aren't really effected by the ethanol if use in a timely manner.

Cheapest junk that burns.
In the hottest of summer i put in mid grade but honestly, the boat was designed (and the motorcycle it was based off of) to run on regular pump gas so i am not too worried. I drop in fuel treatment in the early fall and burn most of it on the Starved rock to Peoria run.

My manual calls for 91+ octane and it suggests ethanol free. It also says up to 10% ethanol is ok. I trailer my boat and there are no ethanol free gas stations near me. Should I be adding anything to the fuel?

My dealer told me I can use 87 0r 89 octane if I had no choice but I would lose noticeable horsepower. I can't have that so I guess its high octane for me!

We have a handful of stations close by that have ethanol free 89 octane. If not, I'd run the ethanol stuff. Great excuse to take the boat out more.

Switched to ethanol free rec-90 this summer when the engine lost a few hundred rpms. Found out later that the air cleaner element had oil and/or fogging residue in it. Dealer claimed it was not them even though they winterized and changed the oil in my boat every year.

87/10 mostly due to where it's slipped.

Dealer and manual state 87 octane. Dealer stated ethanol has no affect.

If I'm at a gas station on trailer I will go ethanol free.

91 or 93 is all we have for pure gas on the lake, so thats what it gets. Octane level over 87 really not important, but I never use ethanol. Also run Ring Free due to higher octane I'm using.

Cheapest gas available and Marine stabil for every fill up. It is still cheaper than mid-grade and makes me feel better about being cheap.

In the Houston area all street gas is E10. I infrequently fill at the marinas where gas is $1 per gallon more expensive, but it's not e10. If I fill up at the gas station, (or bring fuel in jerry cans from the gas station) is always 87 e10. No issues. but I do use stabil when I remember.
