Getting ready to have the speakers upgraded. I’m on the fence about having a subwoofer installed not sure about have a 10inch hole drilled, thinking about going with a 10 inch Wetsounds free air sub mounted on the drivers side below the throttle

Its only a hole....lol....Says the guy with lots of holes cut!

Well, if you are going to put a 10" sub in , I would not put a 10" hole in the boat for it, If you do the speaker will fall thru the hole... That would be bad.... LOL

I did it when I owned a 230. Mine was placed in the same bulk head just father back (on the side of my seat). Use lots of tape to avoid chipping /cracking the surrounding gelcoat and measure 20 to 30 times before you spin up the power tools and you should be good to go.

I have a 10 inch sub. It fills out the bottom quite well. You notice it very well sitting. Loses a little when fly down the lake.

I have a few....and I don't lose it flying down the lake, but then again, I am a bit on the extreme side.

I agree with Ronnie. Lots of tape, you can't over measure and use as many sharp blades as you need. When the blade starts to dull it burns the glass and stops making a clean cut.

I have a 6x9 in that location.

Extreem side? Why would you say that? Just because your boat puts out enough juice to light up the city of Milwaukee? lol.
